"...the body and mind are not separate, and we cannot treat one without the other.
Research has shown that the body can and must be healed through the mind
and the mind can and must be healed through the body."

The Mind/Body Connection

It is widely accepted that the mind and the body are united.  In 1972, Dr. Candace Pert, a neuroscientist and research professor at Georgetown Medical Center in Washington, DC, discovered the existence of "opioid receptors," chemicals in our bodies that form a kind of information network linking the mind to the body.  She also noted that high levels of these receptors closely correspond to the location of the seven major energy centers, or chakras, in the body.

Once we understand this mind/body link, it is easy to accept how psychological problems can be linked to the body and physical problems can be linked to the psyche.  For example, illness can be a way of telling us what the unconscious mind knows, but our consciousness has ignored.

The Chakra System

The word chakra means wheel or disk.  A chakra is a spinning disk of bioenergetic energy that receives, processes, and expresses our life force energy.

There are seven major chakras, or energy centers, in our bodies located in a column from the base of our spine to the top of our head.  As we go through life, our energy responds to deal with the various traumas and challenges we experience.  As a result, we often develop "coping strategies" or patterns of behavior that affect the free flow of energy in our bodies and can result in physical problems, such as migraine headaches, digestive disorders, arthritis, or fibromyalgia; or emotional problems, such as stress, depression, fears, or phobias.

I work with my clients by understanding the psychology of the chakras and how this energy is expressed in their bodies.  I then incorporate techniques such as yoga, movement, and breathing exercises into the work to help bringing unconscious messages to awareness, releasing the negative effects of these messages, and allowing the mind/body to return to wholeness.

Release Tension and Improve your Circulation and Overall Health
through Reflexology!!

Doctors agree that over 75% of our health problems can be linked to nervous stress. Reflexology improves nerve and blood supply, helping the body to balance and resulting in significant improvements in one's health.

Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond to all organs, glands, and parts of the body.  Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way.  (Click HERE to access report on "The Effects of Reflexology on Migraine Headaches.")

Reflexology is a safe effective way to Better Health!

Promote Balance and Healing in your Life through Reiki!!

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is, in its simplest translation, universal life energy.  It is referred to in other cultures as "chi", "prana", or "spirit".  It is the life force that exists in all things.  The practice of Reiki is the art and science of channeling this universal life energy, or force, to promote spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.

The knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things and is connected directly to the quality of health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times.  The existence of this "life force energy" has been verified by recent scientific experiments, and medical doctors are considering the role it plays in the functioning of the immune system and the healing process.

Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind, and spirit.  It creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being.

Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement!
